Common questions

Are there any waiting periods?
No. Your cover starts the moment your application is accepted. Accidental death cover is in place from the moment you sign your application.
Do I need a medical exam?
No. We ask 5 simple health questions. No blood tests, no doctors, no physical examinations required for direct clients with cover up to R2.25 million.
How are premiums structured?
Premiums are age-rated and collected monthly via debit order on the 1st, 15th, 20th or 25th. They increase annually by the higher of CPI or 4%.
What if I change my mind?
You have a full 31-day cooling-off period. If you cancel within 31 days and no claim has been lodged, you receive a complete refund of all premiums paid.
How do claims work?
Your nominated beneficiaries submit a claim to Benefactor.life. Once validated, a cash lump sum is paid directly to them.
Can I adjust my cover later?
Yes. You can increase or decrease your cover amount as your needs change, subject to underwriting for increases.
